I'm getting back in the swing of things. Last night I went to the Pride of Pacific Islands' 7th Annual Polynesian Luau. I was their photographer.
I haven't taken photos for an event in so long, not since I was on staff for the Spartan Daily. Until last Tuesday's session of the Senior Interior Design Students photos, this has been my second event to take photos for others.
I forgot how exhausting it was, especially not being used to covering an event for 5 hours.
I was a bit nervous about my camera battery situation, which I ordered one online Wednesday. It arrived yesterday and I was franticly waiting for it to charge. I was constantly swapping out the batteries and charging them.
Well, the battery was not the issue. The issue I had was with the flash. I'm still not very good at lighting and when I'm in a low light situation such as the ballroom, I am often forced to use it.
Looking at some of the photos, I definitely could have done something else, but I did not want the direct flash. Ah, It's all a learning experience.
